Gathering Notes and Survey Results - February 8, 2017

An Aimfair Gathering took place on Wednesdaty, February 8, 2017. The group was smaller than the one held on January 25, but similar questions were raised. Following is a list of the topics that were discussed:

  1. Client was here at Christmas and now just got back a few days ago.
    • Noticeable difference in amount of staff.
    • Concierge sporadic at best.
    • A concierge told him there was a shortage of staff.
    • Same situation with transportation.


  2. Pedestrian access of the property.
    • Keep filling in the customer feedback form.


  3. Client asks how a client can be here for 3 weeks for free from RCI and we have difficulty making a reservation.

  4. My web reservation. Now says it's under construction, it's not working.
    • Even if we can't book through here because of addendum's it was, nice to see availability and our existing reservations.


  5. When is the New golf course completed?
    • Can we use our golf on the new golf course?
    • Update the GPS - it's been 3 years.


  6. Lady asks about room assignment.

  7. Opening of the Park.

  8. Client says at her update she was told the company was opening a resale department in 2018.

  9. Is there a secret to get an early tee Time? Calling 65 days before and was told 50 ahead of him.
    • Suggestion start like last year on the tenth and do 9 holes...
    • Caddies will be busy.


  10. Suggestion supply litter bags for the beach.
    • A lot of people picking up garbage.


  11. Tennis?

  12. Taxi stand on this end?
    • This place is to big for just one taxi stand. Just not right!
    • Client is getting off from the cab close to tower 5 and they are chasing him.
    • Keep it simple!!!


  13. Specialty products? Oversold?

  14. We need more umbrellas by the pool.

  • It was very difficult to hear the converstions. A microphone was badly needed.

  • Golf course-get everyone playing to be a member such as an ID card to be shown when you register each player. I know of 2 players from the Grand Mayan that play 4-5 times/week and pay nothing, that does not seem fair to the people that pay and have difficulty getting on the course.

  • Here is where I could go on and on. The issues can be classified as a series of annoyances that collectively are concerning. People here spend hundreds of thousands of dollars. They, we rightfully expect to receive what was promised. The number of employees in February are less than in Dec. January when we were here also. Less concierges, waitetrs and tram drivers. The treatment of Platinum owners is sporadic at best. The placement of Residence owners does not even guarantee a high floor in the spa building. Cookies and tea in the afternoon only on the 9th floor. Ice pops now only served at 1pm verses also at 4pm. Water not included as it was before on the Nicklaus course. Nickle and dime comes to mind.

  • Don't think that Vida vacations will give us any real truthful information that is beyond what we hear from other members. I think Vida is trying to address some of our problems but I think results will be slow.

  • Have a person familiar with the company policies and to have a genuine interest in the owners concerns. The individual is a 22 year employee of Vindanta and is a mouth piece for the corporation. No one received a definitive answere to their questions, the majority of his answers were "I don't know" and no "I will get back to You".

  • Transferring contract or selling it.

  • Clear answers to questions. Re:
    • Why are we being discouraged to walk off the property?
    • What are future plans for an easy walk off way?
    • Why are reservations always problematic?


  • Brett did a great job. Some people came with their own agendas NOT related to the purpose of the Aimfair meeting. Re: floor they were assigned to, etc...
