Two Aimfair Gatherings were held in Nuevo Vallarta, and attendees were very active. It was a good time asking questions and getting answers from Brett Estes, the new Director of Member Relations. (Tap the "X" to return.)

Approximately 40 Aimfair members and their spouses or partners responded that they would participate in either one or both Aimfair Gatherings that took place on November 9 and 16 in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. As you well know, word spreads, and there were additional friends who participated as well. Forty five or so participants at each Gathering. Lots of fun, and it was great having Brett Estes, the Director of Member Relations provide answers to member's questions.

Shortly thereafter, Vida Vacations management asked if we would invite attendees to participate in a short survey. We agreed, and following are the results so far:

Thirteen participants left these additional comments:

  1. Inadequate luggage containers...need more units to transport luggage more efficiently. Bus like signs to inform 1st.time vacationers destination of carts.

  2. More on the North access . . . more on the sales process, update time requirement.

  3. I’d like to hear from the hotel management.

  4. Ways to establish external sources of lobbying to have meaningful influence and pressure on the owner of Vidanta since internal complaint and feedback mechanisms are completely ineffective.

  5. Follow up on the things that the sales department tells you when making a purchase. Open the cell door so we can walk to the marina etc.

  6. I would like to have more definitive answers. I learned more from other members than Mr. Estes who provided us with "off the shelf answers". "That's not my dept...I have no control over that... Mr. Chavez changes his mind..is not what I expected. Id like to discuss developments for the MEMBERS, not the general public. La joya & cirque du soleil are not benefits for us & only serve to generate more activity & overcrowding.

  7. Brett did a great job. I do hope that he can pass on the concerns about the online registration and getting to the Sea Garden without walking the beach. I have read on TUG how many GM & GL owners are choosing Sea Garden because it is difficult for many older owners to get around the complex as it is so large. I know Brett mentioned more handicapped carts - that is a great start. I appreciated you guys hosting this. It was nice to meet other owners and to hear their concerns. Thanks for inviting us. Mike & Pittle

  8. Brett was great and appeared very supportive of the owners. How much is he empowered to make changes?

  9. Would love to have a number to call to answer questions about our contract. Questions arise after leaving Mexico sometimes Months later and I don't know who to call???

  10. 1. problems with reservation process - especially related to addenda 2. update on progress with website 3. disparity that sometimes exists between quality and cost of food in higher end restaurants on site 4. shuttle system

  11. We remain concerned with their approach to shutting off the back gate, and basically not listening to their client's needs. Vidanta is a clever organization so it should be put to them to come up with a solution more to their liking, and more of a compromise than denying access....

  12. More definitive answers from management about future development. However, we know how often they change their decisions. Reservations and benefits always seem to be a problem.

  13. My frustration that, despite the magnitude of my purchase, all I feel is the sense that all Vida wants is more money. Every sales meeting includes significant amount of time devoted to telling me why what I paid for at the preceding update wasn't very good or wasn't going to do what I expected. Why, after, hundreds of thousands of dollars AM I expected to pay thousands more to get special access to Celebrate. Membership at Residence level should include some additional privileges as part of money already paid.
Aside from allowing Aimfair members to get to know one another, another objective of the Aimfair Gatherings is to discuss ways to improve member experiences and make suggestions to resort management. After all, members want what management wants, which is a favorable reputation that is passed along by word of mouth. Management may be blindsided by short term improved results in areas such as increased restaurant revenues that are followed by long term consequences such as reductions in occupancy. This is a consequence neither members nor management wants to see.
Thank you all for participating, AND thank you to Brett for doing his best to answer our questions. Stay tuned for more Aimfair Gatherings and hopefully changes....
