Thanks to two members - Frank and Linda - for sending separate copies of the following map showing plans for Nuevo Vallarta.
This architect's rendering displays the future vision of the Grupo Vidanta property at Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico as of November 2011. Changes could come about, true. We will see.
There is much to keep track of. So we are putting a feature in the Golf page that provides updates for our golfing members and see how it goes.

Happy New Year everyone. We plan to be at the resort in April and heard today that it is possible that the Nayar course may be back to an 18 hole course. I would be interested to see any photos and written updates on the upcoming plans for those on the property this month. Thanks for your help. |

An article in the November / December issue of California Golf News Digital Magazine describes Jack Nicklaus' newest golf academy. That's right, the subject of the article is located at the Nayar Golf Course in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. The article provides brief reviews from users of the facility and states the Nayar academy is the 15th Jack Nicklaus academy in the world and 3rd in Mexico. The facility's director of instruction is Bruce Summerhays, Jr., a PGA professional from Utah whose father Bruce played on the PGA and Champions tours. "This academy is really more of a golf experience than a practice area," Summerhays said. "The beginner can not only enjoy the incredible atmosphere, but can feel confident that they are receiving the best quality instruction." Although we wanted to, we were unable to use the facility and look forward to doing so during our next visit. It seems to be a great place to both refine your game and practice as a beginner; the latter happens to be the reason we want to venture out and use this great resource. Golf is a great pass time. From what we see, Vidanta Golf is committed to provide access to four additional courses at Neuvo Vallarta over the next six to eight years. We hear there could be plans for more golf courses in the Ease Cape area of San Jose del Cabo. If so, that will be even better.
In the meantime, we will all enjoy what we have and look forward to the expanded facilities when they arrive.
