Jingle Bells As You've Never Heard Before

January 10, 2022

Yes, it is after the Christmas and Holiday celebrations. We know. BUT, this rendition of Jingle Bells will, if nothing more, introduce you to a new and energetic experience. Joy exudes from this video, which is a pop-up concert performed by the US Air Force Band and Choral group. Remember this link when you feel down or like you need a boost of energy! It will be the cure for all despondency!!

Yes, we know it is unusual to draw attention to something that is traditionally saved for the Holidays. But, if we all keep this rendition of Jingle Bells in mind all the time, chances are we will smile and think of how wonderful the gift of music is; maybe it will also be a mood changer too.
Here's to you and many wonderful years where ever you may be!

Happy New Year

January 3, 2022

Where does time go when vacationing at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta? We celebrated New Year's Eve on the beach and had a wonderful time seeing friends and family. Following is what we saw and enjoyed, and you can vicariously participate in the celebration any time you tap this post.

Before midnight, Salum was hopping with families with multiple generations. Truly a fun way to introduce the New Year!

At midnight, the fireworks display was everything anyone would want. Look in the distance. So many other resorts were shooting off their fireworks show too. Beautiful, and so much fun!

Now, we are three days into the New Year and looking forward to all that 2022 has to offer. There seems to be a new energy to the beginning of 2022, and we hope it will last throughout the New Year!

We wish you all a healthy, prosperous, joyful and exciting 2022.

Cheers!

Generosity of Aimfair Members and Freddy's Friends

December 4, 2021

In less than thirty days, Freddy's friends and Aimfair Members raised more than the $6,000 US goal of the GoFundMe campaign to help Freddy pay for his wife's cancer treatments. This is an exceptional example of kindness!

During the campaign, an Aimfair member brought to our attention another act of kindness. Here is his story:

What a very caring effort you both have made to help Freddy Knox and his wife!

I would like to share with you a similar effort I made last February when my wife and I were at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. While there, I noted that Sr. Oscar Aguilar, who has a craft shop near the Grand Mayan water slide where he sells had-made jewelry, appeared to be in need of a reconditioned wheelchair as the one he was using was in very poor shape and nearly beyond repair and in need of prompt replacement before his chair collapses on him.

With the help of Karina de la Rosa of the Vidanta Customer Care Center, I was able to send him $275 via Western Union and he shortly thereafter received the money and was able to buy a reconditioned wheelchair. He was personally very thankful and we look forward to seeing him when we are at Vidanta NV in January.

Please, I want no recognition for this story of my gift to Oscar; his thank-you was welcome enough. On the other hand, I mention Karina de la Rosa and the Customer Care Center as perhaps another possible source of help in providing care to other Vidanta employees.
It is truly wonderful to find kindness in many places you don't expect. After all, kindness is something we all have to give, and sometimes we forget how important it actually is!

Thank you all for your generosity and kindness. Let's keep spreading it all over!!!

Help Freddy

Freddy Knox and his wife need your help.

October 23, 2021

Freddy Knox is a 20 year veteran with Grupo Vidanta. He spent a number of years in sales until he moved into the Customer Care department. There he found his calling to help people through the challenges of Vidanta contract ownership. After a couple of years as a Customer Care agent, he suggested the company form a VIP Concierge service. The company liked the idea moved him into a new position. He has been working in that position for the past five years.

During the last three years, Freddy's wife has battled cancer. Progress was being made until the pandemic hit in 2020. The combination of reduced tourism that negatively affected Vidanta and a change for the worse in Freddy's wife's condition have created very difficult circumstances for Freddy and his ability to continue paying mounting medical bills.

We did not know Freddy had to leave Vidanta and move to his wife's home town north of Mexico City until a Facebook post indicated Freddy was no longer the point person for the VIP Concierge services. We reached out to Freddy and heard his desperate story. He needs help paying his rising medical bills.

Given he has been such a helpful person to those of us who worked with him at Vidanta, we decided to form Go Fund Me page so Aimfair Members and other members of Vidanta can give back by sending gifts in his behalf. The goal is to reach $6,000. Generous Aimfair members have already contributed nearly $1,000, so we are on our way.

Please give what you can to help Freddy cover his mounting medical expenses. Tap the following link to be taken to our Go Fund Me Page: https://gofund.me/792f37da Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

It's A Wonderful World - David Attenborough - BBC One

December 1, 2020

The year has only a month to go before a new one begins. For many of us, it will be a godsend. Something positive to look forward to. New experiences and acquaintances are just around the corner.

Although this video has nothing directly to do with our experiences at Vidanta, indirectly it does. Because it is a reminder that the world we live in is wonderful.

Enjoy:

Refer back to this video when days are cloudy and dark. Cheers!

Are you ready...?

Are you ready to vacation?

Although many of us continue to carefully consider our vacation options, there are those who are confident enough in the protocols adopted by Grupo Vidanta to protect guests against infection by the coronavirus. They are reporting beautiful conditions, lovely surroundings and safe conditions at each of the Grand Luxxe Residence Club properties.

Grupo Vidanta continues to provide visual evidence that the properties are there and ready to enjoy. Following are two videos recently published by the developer:

Jungala is also waiting in Riviera Maya:

It is time to take advantage of the low airfares and attractive cost of spending a week or two in Mexico, specifically at the Grand Luxxe Residence Club in Riviera Maya or Nuevo Vallarta.

Cheers!

Have You Noticed? Check This Out....

May 16, 2017

Aimfair members have been remarkable sources of information. Scott and Sue returned from a visit to Nuevo Vallarta on June 13, 2010 and sent us a note describing what they learned during their stay.

June 13, 2010

What is fascinating about this post are the references to Cirque du Soleil, the building on the point (The Punta) described as where owners of four weeks will stay, the new resort 15 miles north of San Jose del Cabo (East Cape), and the towers along the Ameca River. The Sales Department was discussing these items and others seven years ago.

The point is we all hear many predictions about future plans, and often times we discard them because they do not seem possible. Also, many predictions are interspersed with plans that change, so determining which are going to come to fruition and which don't is the challenge.

Regardless, based upon Scott and Sue's note, it takes a long time to see results. In addition, there is always disruption on the way because nothing happens instantly and overnight. We can now look back and say to ourselves, yes we heard about these plans but knew there would be changes. And indeed there were....very close to what Scott and Sue reported in their note.

After seven years, we see some predictions become reality. What will the next seven years bring....? We will all....Stay Tuned...

What are we doing to capture the Gen-Xers and Millennials through experiential travel?

March 3, 2020

What exactly is experiential travel? Why is it appealing? What qualifies?

Well, following is one hotel that has an answer. Take a look and leave your comments:

This Monte Carlo Hotel Wants to Help You Unleash Your Inner 007 With Two New Experiences
Enjoy Aston Martin and helicopter rides, a movie premiere, a night at the casino hosted by the Prince of Monaco and more with Hotel Metropoleā€™s two new Bond-themed packages.

As anticipation builds for the April release of No Time to Dieā€”the next James Bond film and Daniel Craigā€™s last as 007ā€”one Monaco hotel is celebrating the cinematic event in true jet-setter style. Set in the principality that evokes the glamour of those MI6 movies (itā€™s famed casino was featured in Never Say Never Again and Golden Eye), the Hotel Metropole is offering guests two ways to live like Bond wouldā€”including a chance to place your bets in the presence of royalty.

Thereā€™s no shortage of luxury experiences in Monaco, and the Metropoleā€™s Golden Eye package puts many of those over-the-top experiences together in the GoldenEye package offered exclusively to guests of the Suite CarrĆ© dā€™Or, which was redone in late-2019 by famed designer Jacques Garcia in a fresh, contemporary style. Check in to the magnificent penthouse apartment (which is spread out over 1,614-square-feet, with an additional 1,184-square-foot terrace) and enjoy a full day and night itinerary that starts with a private visit to the casino and a helicopter fly-over of the country, followed by lunch at the hotelā€™s JoĆ«l Robuchon-helmed Japanese restaurant. In the afternoon, take a ride along the French Riviera in an Aston Martin, indulge in a coupleā€™s massage, and savor a candle-lit dinner prepared by the Robuchon chefs and served on your suiteā€™s massive terrace, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Hit the casino tables after dinner, then return to a suite adorned with rose petals and bubbly.

While the GoldenEye experience is available year-round for guests of that top suite, the Metropole is also offering a limited-time package that will thrill even the most passionate fans of the Bond franchise. The Secret Agent experience (available April 6-8) includes a two-night stay in a Superior, Deluxe or Superior Junior suite, (including breakfast); VIP access to the hotelā€™s Secret Agent SoirĆ©e, a party with with Michelin-starred eats and a performance by a soon-to-be-announced music legend; and preferred seating at the red-carpet premiere of No Time to Die, featuring a tribute to the late Roger Moore and a display of never-before-seen Bond memorabilia. Then itā€™s on to a glamorous after-party at the Casino de Monte-Carlo hosted by His Serene Highness the Prince of Monaco. At press time, only 25 bookings for the Secret Agent package remain. Rates for the Suite CarrĆ© dā€™Or start at $13,634 per night, and $19,000 per night with the GoldenEye Experience for two guests. Rates for the Secret Agent package start at $2,726 for two guests, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Princess Grace Foundation USA.
Our Luxxe, Presidential, SPA, Loft and Residence accommodations are much larger than the oneā€™s advertised. Value seems to be in the experience - not the space.

Letā€™s all think about the experiences that we need to introduce here in Nuevo Vallarta to rival what Metropole is offering. Now, granted, this is a bit tongue in cheek, but there is a point here - Gen Xers and Millennials are the future, and we need to appeal to them now.

Six Months After New Year Celebrations - Update

July 8, 2019

We are six months into 2019! eek Can you believe it? Our last visit to Nuevo Vallarta was the first week in March, 2019. Weather was beautiful, friends were plentiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

So, what has happened since then? Well, Vidanta has been very active:
  • In Nuevo Vallarta -
    • A new building north of Tower Six is under construction and has an unusual shape.
    • A new structure is under construction on the other side of the Ameca River and west of the suspension bridge.
    • A new shopping area is under construction west of the Grand Bliss tower and east of Chiringuitos.
    • Construction in The Park continues.
    • A new egress road onto the freeway heading north is under construction.
    • The Estates building area is growing into the cow paster directly across the Ameca River from Towers 3 and 4.
  • In Riviera Maya -
    • The Estates construction is apparently moving forward, but no one has seen the buildings or building area yet.
    • The Jungala Luxury Water Park had its Soft Opening yesterday, July 6, 2019. Pricing for adults ranges from $59 US to $270 US and $44 US to $227 US for children. More to come on pricing and terms of use.
    • The Joya Theater continues to host the Cirque du Soleil event.
  • In East Cape -
    • Three towers are under construction. No word on when it will open.
    • One Vidanta representative stated there would be a smaller tower open in 2019. No verification of that yet.
  • In Acapulco -
    • DeLuxxe Suites are made available.
  • Vidanta Cruise Line
    • October, 2019 - Vidanta Elegant sets sail with Luxxe passengers for the first time.
There are a lot of changes taking place at the different Vidanta campuses. We look forward to covering them all in the coming months.
Join us wonā€™t you? Lots of fun in the sun...!!

Happy New Year!

January 1, 2019 - 12:01 AM

New Yearā€™s Day - 12:01 AM in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico

It was a beautiful display of fireworks this morning, all designed to welcome the New Year, and we were lucky enough to be on the property to share the joy with you.

2019 is a year of many expectations. In Nuevo Vallarta, the Jalisco Estates may bring happiness to its new members. The Celebrate Park is progressing with 12 new buildings currently under construction. Many plans are being finalized, some of which may come to fruition during the New Year.

In Riviera Maya, a long awaited Water Park is under construction and may open in 2019. This new facility appears to be located in the same area as the Luxxe Jungle Suites on the western side of the property near the highway.

In East Cape, construction is underway, although finishing and opening buildings on the property may not happen until after the Celebrate Park in Nuevo Vallarta opens in 2022.

In Puerto Penasco, Grand Bliss and Luxxe units may be opened during the year. However, priorities for finishing these projects may coincide with the launch of Vidanta Cruises. Speculation! All speculation!

Vidanta Cruises is in the planning stages. The Vidanta Elegant is being refurbished in Naples, Italy and may move to a shipyard in Mexico for finishing touches. First cruise may occur in 2019, which would be a new experience for all of us.

These are just a few of the many projects that are underway in the halls of Grupo Vidanta.

Join us, wonā€™t you as we welcome the New Year! We hope it will bring good health, prosperity and joy to all.
Cheers!

Sr. Daniel Chavez Moran - A Member of President Lopez Obradorā€™s Advisory Council

November 21, 2018

We all know that Sr. Daniel Chavez is supportive of tourism. He strongly believes increasing tourism is the pathway to closing the economic gap between Mexico and its northern neighbors - the United States and Canada.

The following article provides insight to Sr. Chavezā€™s reach. He will be participating in a high level advisory group for Mexicoā€™s incoming president, Sr. Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador:

Lopez Obrador Accepts Advice from Business Leaders in Mexico

Instead, you will need to tap the search magnifying glass symbol in the upper right corner of the page, type in Obrador, and tap the 4th selector box at the bottom of the page. With time, the box number will be higher because the date of Nov. 16 is static.

Mexico, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) A group of prominent businesspersons created a council to advise the next president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who accepted their participation, it was reported on Friday. The three main media owners, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, Bernardo Gomez, and Olegario Vazquez Aldir will be in the group, as well as Carlos Hank, who heads the most important Mexican bank, Banorte.

In addition, the industrial entrepreneurs Daniel Chavez, Miguel Rincon, and Sergio Gutierrez, and Miguel Aleman Magnani, from service business, also form the council.

They said that they want to support and that they want to be advisors of the next president of the Republic, and I took their word. They want to be members of an advisory council of the president, they want to help me, they want to give me their points of view, their visions and help us, Lopez Obrador said, in a video broadcast on social networks.

He said that the members of the business advisory council will be coordinated by businessman Alfonso Romo, future head of the Office of the President of the Republic, and will meet with them every two or three months.

Ricardo Salinas is the owner of Grupo Salinas, which includes TV Azteca, Grupo Elektra, Seguros Azteca, Afore Azteca, Advance America, Italika, Banco Azteca, Punto Casa de Bolsa, and Totalplay.

Meanwhile, Bernardo Gomez is Vice President of Televisa; Olegario Vazquez Aldir, heir of Grupo Empresarial Angeles, which includes the Group Real Turismo, the Group Angeles Servicios de Salud, the Group Financiero Multiva and the Group Multimedia Image, which includes the newspaper Excelsior.

Carlos Hank, meanwhile, is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Banorte Group, the second largest bank in the country, and his family businesses include the Hermes Group, Gruma, and the participation in the construction of the Texcoco air terminal.

In turn, Daniel Chavez is president of Grupo Vidanta, which manages luxury beach hotels; Miguel Rincon Arredondo is in the forestry industry and his company is called Grupo Industrial Durango; Miguel Aleman Magnani directs Interjet; and Sergio Gutierrez is the owner of the steel company of Nuevo Leon, Deacero.

In the video, Lopez Obrador emphasized that 'we do need the support of entrepreneurs to invest in Mexico, generate jobs. I tell you to not to worry because I know very well what should be done to help the most humble people, the poorest.'

The Park should stimulate tourism for Nayarit and Jalisco, and Sr. Chavez is right in the middle of it. Congratulations!

Looking For Something To Do? Read on....

August 23, 2018

More member and customer nurturing is on the way at Vidanta Resorts. First, we understand there is a new position within the organization - The Chief Experience Officer. This new position presumably is an extension and expansion of the Member Liaison that participated in the Aimfair Gatherings in 2016, 2017 and 2018. An introduction to this new person could come in September, after Vidantaā€™s annual meeting, which will be held in Spain this year.

Along those lines, we saw the following announcement in an August 23, 2018 post in the online version of Travel and Leisure Magazine. Vidanta is looking for a Brand Ambassador, and it sounds like the company is becoming serious about communicating with its members and guests. Here is the article:

You Could Get Paid $120,000 to Spend a Year at Some of Mexico's Most Beautiful Resorts

AUGUST 23, 2018

How does this sound? A year in Mexicoā€™s most beautiful destinations ā€” including Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Acapulco, Puerto PeƱasco, and Puerta Vallarta ā€” plus gourmet dining, high-end spas, designer golf courses, and exclusive entertainment. All this and a one-year salary of $120,000 plus travel expenses.

This over-the-top job opportunity was just announced by Vidanta, a collection of premier destination resorts across Mexico. One lucky and qualified candidate will become Vidantaā€™s brand ambassador with some of Mexicoā€™s most impressive resorts as their new workplace.

ā€œItā€™s an understatement when we say that the ā€˜perksā€™ of this position are endless,ā€ IvĆ”n ChĆ”vez, executive vice president of Grupo Vidanta, said in a statement. ā€œThe lucky applicant will fully immerse themselves in each of our resort destinations; from uncovering ancient Mayan ruins, hidden eateries, and underwater cenotes to discovering the hottest new restaurants and nightclubs.ā€

There is a bit of work involved in the ā€œworldā€™s best job,ā€ however. The brand ambassador will act as Vidantaā€™s on-location social influencer, gathering content while experiencing the luxury, comfort, and adventure offered at their resorts. It will be the ambassador's job to inspire travelers worldwide through their experiences, such as breakfast in bed, luxurious spa treatments, poolside margaritas, and zip line adventures through the Riviera Nayarit jungle. Taste-testing new dishes prepared by Mexicoā€™s culinary superstar chefs, visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites, and stargazing along the Sea of Cortez will be all in a dayā€™s work.

The individual selected will go through an extensive training program which will not only prepare them for the brand ambassador role, but will also provide skills for a successful post-Mexico career (if they ever leave, that is). The ideal candidate will have sales or hospitality experience, a warm personality, and willingness to relocate to Mexico along with love for travel and new experiences.

If all this sounds great ā€” and why wouldnā€™t it? ā€” apply online at worldsbestjob.com and submit your resume in addition to an optional 60-second video before Sunday, Oct. 21 at 11:50 p.m. CDT.

Looks like a great job! Also, it appears Vidanta is working toward managing its message. It will be fun to follow this new development and how it impacts current members of Vidanta and Aimfair.
Stay tuned....

The Park - Massive!

July 13, 2018

Can you imagine a property the size of about .6 miles wide and 1.3 miles long, from one tip to the other? Well that is how large The Park appears to be, based upon Google Earth's most recent images.

Here is what we are talking about:

This image of The Park was taken by Google Earth in March, 2018. Much more work has been done since then. Literally tons and tons of earth have been relocated and continue to be relocated. Stay tuned....(Tap the image to enlarge; tap your browser's back arrow to return)

Although the Epcot Center is included in the Disney World property in Orlando, it is only about .71 miles north to south and about .75 miles east to west, which includes a parking lot. Here is a Google image of the Epcot Center:

Vidanta Forum - Tourism To Mexico - May 16 - 19, 2018

Vidanta Forum - Tourism To Mexico and The Park

April 29, 2018

Jssquared is a member of Aimfair. He brought to all of our attention an article published on the El Economista website on April 25, 2018. The translated version of the article is here.

The ties between developing the Park in Nuevo Vallarta and the Vidanta Forum to be held May 16 to May 19, 2018 at the Grand Vidanta Convention Center in Nuevo Vallarta stem from the basic premise that increased tourism to Mexico will help reduce the economic and social gap that exists between Mexico and North America. A book entitled Falling Behind written by Francis Fukuyama and published by the Oxford Press in 2008 discusses the question of whether or not politics and the defective institutions in Latin America have held the countries back from growing at the same pace as North America has since the 1700s.

Discussions held at the Vidanta Forum will be interesting, but in addition, we are likely to gain insight to new plans for the Park and updated opening dates. Following is the Google translated article referred to above:

GRUPO VIDANTA
Cirque du Soleil theme park in Nuevo Vallarta, with 20% advance
The theme park on Cirque du Soleil built by Grupo Vidanta in Nuevo Vallarta (involving an investment of 1,300 million dollars) has a physical advance of 20% and the inauguration of the first phase is planned in a couple of years, he said. the president of the council, Felipe RamĆrez.

The aforementioned opening date contrasts with that reported by the group itself in November 2014: "The amusement park will generate thousands of jobs in the state of Nayarit and has been designed to promote tourism in the region. Also, it is planned to be completed by 2018. "

After the presentation of the first Forum Vidanta tourism, development engine, the manager recalled that the park, which will redefine the concept of immersive entertainment, worldwide, is developed in stages, but did not offer more details on why the 20 percent advance.

When asked about the possibility of the president of Cirque du Soleil, Daniel Lamarre, opening or visiting the progress of the work on the occasion of his participation in the forum next month, he said that it is about different things.

An unprecedented forum
The business group, through its Vidanta Foundation and the collaboration of El Colegio de MĆ©xico, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE), will hold a forum from May 16 to 19 the following thematic axes: diffusion of tourism and digital strategies, environment and sustainable tourism, Mexican gastronomy as a tourist attraction and creativity and culture: the ambassadors of Mexico in the world.

The inaugural message will be in charge of the president of Grupo Vidanta, Daniel ChƔvez. Among the guests is: Alejandro del Mazo Maza, National Commissioner of Protected Natural Areas

In his press release, the executive vice president of Grupo Vidanta, IvƔn ChƔvez, says that "aware of the impact that tourism has on the development of Mexico, through our Vidanta Foundation, it is a priority to generate a plural dialogue with world leaders, who let us know global trends and best practices as a solid path to innovation. "

For his part, the director of the foundation, Roberto Russell, mentioned in the presentation that the issue of insecurity is not part of the agenda of the forum, but will be addressed as part of the challenges and insecurities of the tourism sector.

"Insecurity gives a negative image of Mexico from the outside in some cases. We are very interested in touching on the forum the positive aspects that Mexico has, because many times it happens that putting the accent on the negative is unknown all the virtues and positive elements that the country has," he said at the press conference.

The Vidanta Forum - May 16 - May 19, 2018

April 28, 2018

Have you read Falling Behind by Francis Fukuyama? The book was published in 2008 by the Oxford University Press. It is the compilation contributions made by participants in the November 2005 seminar in Buenos Aires entitled "Explaining the Development Gap between Latin America and the United States".

The question posed by the author and the seminar is why did Latin American fall behind the "other" America when Bolivia and Peru were both richer and hosted more complex civilizations than any that existed in North America in 1700? The subject of the book is how and when this gap in economic performance emerged, and why Latin America has not been able to overcome it as many countries in East Asia have. The seminar was supported by the FundaciĆ³n Grupo Mayan, which is the precursor of the Vidanta Forum sponsor - Vidanta Foundation.

If you are on the Nuevo Vallarta property between May 16 and 19, 2018, don't be surprised if you see 450 attendees enjoying the property. There also will be a number of dignitaries who will be participating, including Daniel J. ChavĆ©z Moran, founder of the foundation and Roberto Russel, the foundation's president now and of the FundaciĆ³n Grupo Mayan in 2008. Following is the news release announcing the seminar:

Cancun Airport - More Order is Needed

February 16, 2018

The Riviera Maya News posted the following article. It certainly speaks for itself, and it would be great if order would come to the PV International airport too. What do you think? Leave your comment below this article. Cheers!

Agencies say order is needed to stop tourist harassment at Cancun airport
BY RIVIERA MAYA NEWS ON FEBRUARY 16, 2018
https://www.riviera-maya-news.com
Cancun, Q.R. ā€” Several tourist bodies in Cancun are requesting that bad tourism practices being allowed by the Cancun International Airport be regulated.

The Hotel Association of Cancun and Puerto Morelos (AHCyPM) along with the Visitors and Conventions Office (OVC) and the Mexican Association of Travel Agencies (AMAV) have voiced their concern about irregularities in the new Terminal 4 of the Cancun airport.

Concerned bodies are denouncing the harassment of arriving passengers saying they have received many complaints in regards to the irregularities in the AIC. They say these things create a bad image for visitors, such as the harassment of passengers for car rental services, taxis (those who have the concession for the air terminal), of pirate transporters and of timeshare vendors at the terminal exit.

ā€œWe have received complaints from the tour operators about the arrival area of the T4. Passengers who head toward the exit door do not see representatives of their hotel or company so the independent transport companies deceive them by selling them transportation. This causes complaints and requests for reimbursements,ā€ said Lizzie Cole Guerrero, director of OVC.

ā€œThis damages not only the local tourism agencies, but also the tour operator, the travel agent who sold the package and in general, our destination,ā€ she added.

ā€œWe agreed that we must put order in the airport. We cannot be a world class destination with that reception to our tourists,ā€ said Roberto CintrĆ³n GĆ³mez, president of the AHCyPM.

The AHCyPM also agrees. The AMAV is absolutely right to raise its voice, order must be placed, compared to other international airports in Mexico and the world. The AIC is very ā€œaggressiveā€, said Abelardo Vara Riviera, hotel entrepreneur.

ā€œThe reality is that when you arrive at the terminals, it seems that you arrive at a place of savages, all shouting, offering you almost everything. Visitors are left with the desire to return to the plane. There are no words to describe the way they almost assault you offering services and things that sometimes you do not understand. You are arriving from a long flight and from the moment you step inside the terminal until you take your transport, it is an almost constant harassment,ā€ he said.

Marisol Vanegas PĆ©rez, Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo says the timeshare sales practices at the Cancun International Airport (AIC) are not illegal, given that there is a contract with Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (Asur) and is part of its customer attraction strategies, but what is sought is to avoid deception and harassment, which becomes aggressive toward tourists.

The Timeshare Industry is good for the Mexican economy and tourism, but the airports leave a lot to be desired, don't you think?

Happy Thanksgiving

Novmeber 23, 2017

Thanksgiving on the beach..completely boned turkey!
Thanksgiving on the beach..completely boned turkey!

An Aimfair member sent us this as a reminder of days gone by. She is a Grandma and wishes us all a happy Thanksgiving Day:

GRANDMA RULES!!!!
Grandma's Invitation (Priceless)

Dear Family,

I'm not dead yet. Thanksgiving is still important to me. If being in my Last Will and Testament is important to you, then you might consider being with me for my favorite holiday.

Dinner is at 2:00.
  • NOT 2:15
  • NOT 2:05
  • Two 2:00
Arrive late and you get what's left over.

Last year, that moron Marshall fried a turkey in one of those contraptions and practically burned the deck off the house. This year, the only peanut oil used to make the meal will be from the secret scoop of peanut butter I add to the carrot soup.

Jonathan, your last new wife was an idiot. You don't arrive at someone's house on Thanksgiving needing to use the oven and the stove. Honest to God, I thought you might have learned after two wives - date them longer and save us all the agony of another divorce.

Now, the house rules are slightly different this year because I have decided that 47% of you don't know how to take care of nice things. Paper plates and red Solo cups might be bad for the environment, but I'll be gone soon and that will be your problem to deal with.

House Rules:

1. The University of Texas no longer plays Texas A&M. The television stays off during the meal.

2. The "no cans for kids" rule still exists. We are using 2 liter bottles because your children still open a third can before finishing the first two. Parents can fill a child's cup when it is empty. All of the cups have names on them and I'll be paying close attention to refills.

3. Chloe, last year we were at Trudy's house and I looked the other way when your Jell-O salad showed up. This year, if Jell-O salad comes in the front door it will go right back out the back door with the garbage. Save yourself some time, honey. You've never been a good cook and you shouldn't bring something that wiggles more than you. Buy something from the bakery.

4. Grandmothers give grandchildren cookies and candy. That is a fact of life. Your children can eat healthy at your home. At my home, they can eat whatever they like as long as they finish it.

5. I cook with bacon and bacon grease. That's nothing new. Your being a vegetarian doesn't change the fact that stuffing without bacon is like egg salad without eggs. Even the green bean casserole has a little bacon grease in it. That's why it tastes so good. Not eating bacon is just not natural. And as far as being healthy... look at me. I've outlived almost everyone I know.

6. Salad at Thanksgiving is a waste of space.

7. I do not like cell phones. Leave them in the car.

8. I do not like video cameras. There will be 32 people here. I am sure you can capture lots of memories without the camera pointed at me.

9. Being a mother means you have to actually pay attention to the kids. I have nice things and I don't put them away just because company is coming over. Mary, watch your kids and I'll watch my things.

10. Rhonda, a cat that requires a shot twice a day is a cat that has lived too many lives. I think staying home to care for the cat is your way of letting me know that I have lived too many lives too. I can live with that. Can you?

11. Words mean things. I say what I mean. Let me repeat: You don't need to bring anything means you don't need to bring anything. And if I did tell you to bring something, bring it in the quantity I said. Really, this doesn't have to be difficult.

12. Dominos and cards are better than anything that requires a battery or an on/off switch. That was true when you were kids and it's true now that you have kids.

13. Showing up for Thanksgiving guarantees presents at Christmas. Not showing up guarantees a card that may or may not be signed.

14. In memory of your Grandfather, the back fridge will be filled with beer. Drink until it is gone. I prefer wine anyway. But one from each family needs to be the designated driver. I really mean all of the above.

Love You,
Grandma

lol.......wink.......biggrin

As Grandmas and Grandpas ourselves, we wish you all a wonderful, memorable Thanksgiving!
