Residence at the Grand Luxxe - Judy and Steve
January 9, 2015
Judy and Steve are in the Residence at the Grand Luxxe as one of the first families to enjoy this new category of accommodation. Elevator issues delayed opening of all nine floors, and only four or five floors with two units per floor have been available since December 27. Nino's family and friends, Judy and Steve's family and friends and 15 or so additional Luxxe members and their families are very lucky to be one of the first ones to stay in these luxurious units.
Judy wanted to share her experiences with everyone and sent us her comments with photos. Very interesing and fun!! Enjoy!!
Hola,
Good morning all. I thought I would write a quick note on our first week and explain the pictures I sent. All and all it has been fantastic and as always going way too quickly. Our girls and son in laws leave tomorrow. Our son and daughter in law leave Monday. Greg and Sue Jones arrive this afternoon with their daughter. Steve and I have two tee times open on Tuesday and Thursday if you know of anyone who would like to golf contact me. I did get all requested tee times for when we return in March. I also made reservations for Rivera Maya next January in a 3 bedroom spa.
When we arrived we were taken by a private shuttle straight to the residence tower which they are call Tower 5 as well as Residence. Check in was fast and very simple. We were greeted with a choice of drinks...with alcohol and non alcohol. The elevators were not working and have not been working most of the week. My fitbit shows 10 flights of stairs to get to our 5th story villa. When we got to our room there was a bottle of champagne , cheese platter, fruit and flowers. The rooms are very nice and furnished and equipped like the lofts. The view from our deck is nice though no sunrise or sunset.
The decks have a heated plunge pool. Only 2 lounges on the deck and I have asked for more which I have not received. The elevators open up in the rooms. We are not sure that we like that. We have had people come in by mistake and we opened up on a different floor one time.
The pool on the 10 floor is going to be very nice. They are working very hard to finish it and yesterday the furniture arrived. Steve and I got in trouble by security last night for being up there so don't know when we will get back up there. It is very small so there will have to be limited access to using it.
Construction has been consistence though has not kept us off our deck. 5 am pounding and 3 am dog parking was not pleasant though.

PS: A couple things I left out. We were asked what time we wanted coffee. They just come in and leave it our room coffee pot at 7 am . We were also asked what time we would like maid service and what time we would like turn down. At turndown a chocolate and small bottle of water is left at each nightstand.
There is always a concierge on duty.
To get to golf in the morning we had a private shuttle!
Wow! It appears the guests at the Residences are treated like royalty! What fun!!
