Following are Barbara's comments:

"I just returned from a week in the Grand Luxxe, building 2 in Nuevo Vallarta. There was quite a bit of construction going on, but one "deconstruction". The jackhammers were going nonstop on the Mayan Palace building. I asked several different people and got several different answers as to what was going on. The entire Palace building was empty. The spa, Jade Boutique, wine bar, lobby all were empty. The building closest to the Grand Luxxe bldg 2 was the one being torn down. The top 5 floors were gutted, but the two bottom floors had furniture in them. I was told it was being demolished to improve the view from the Grand Luxxe building. The other rumors I heard were that the entire three-parts of the building was being torn down because they didn't want it next to the Luxxe; also that just the one section near thee Luxxe was being completely torn down; and the one I believe the most — that just the top five floors were being removed.. I have attached two pictures of the Mayan Palace taken from the 7th floor of the Luxxe building 2."

BTW, Barbara assured as that they did not notice noise from the jackammers; instead all they heard were the birds. What fun!
