Eight Vidanta Ocean Front Destinations
Eight Wonderful Locations
Mazatlan
Mazatlán, located on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the state of Sinaloa, is one of the country’s most historic seaside cities and a well-known destination for beach tourism, fishing, and cultural festivals. Often called the “Pearl of the Pacific,” Mazatlán combines a long stretch of sandy beaches with a vibrant port city that dates back to the 19th century, when it served as a major trading hub between Mexico, Europe, and Asia. The city’s famous Malecón—one of the longest oceanfront promenades in the world—runs for more than 13 miles along the coastline and offers sweeping ocean views, public art, and easy access to beaches, restaurants, and historic landmarks.
Mazatlán’s historic center, known as Centro Histórico, features restored 19th-century buildings, colorful plazas, and the elegant Ángela Peralta Theater, a centerpiece of the city’s cultural life. The area around Plaza Machado has become a lively district filled with cafés, galleries, and music venues that highlight the city’s artistic character. Just a short distance away lies the Golden Zone (Zona Dorada), where many hotels, resorts, and beach clubs are located, making it a convenient base for visitors seeking oceanfront accommodations and water activities.
In addition to its beaches and historic charm, Mazatlán is famous for hosting one of Mexico’s largest Carnaval celebrations, attracting visitors from around the world each year with parades, music, and elaborate costumes. Sport fishing is another major draw, as the waters offshore are known for marlin, sailfish, and tuna. With its mix of cultural heritage, coastal scenery, and lively festivals, Mazatlán offers visitors a distinctive Pacific-coast experience that differs from the resort-planned destinations found elsewhere in Mexico.
Just north of the main tourist areas, visitors will find the Vidanta Mazatlán resort complex, home to the Mayan Palace and Sea Garden hotels. These beachfront properties offer spacious accommodations, swimming pools, restaurants, and direct access to miles of Pacific shoreline. The Mayan Palace provides full-service resort amenities and family-friendly suites, while the smaller Sea Garden offers a quieter atmosphere within the same coastal setting. Together they provide a comfortable retreat for travelers who want to enjoy Mazatlán’s beaches and attractions while staying in a relaxed resort environment.
