We asked a number of questions about the status at the different resorts, including restaurants that are open. Following is what we received:

Facilities: Nuevo Vallarta
  • Is the gym operating?
    • Currently, all of the resort’s fitness centers are closed to ensure safety.
  • Is the Spatium operating?
    • Both Spatium and Brio Spa are open and operating with strict new safety measures in place as part of Vidanta Extraordinary Standards. These measures include:
      • Full sanitizing of the spa daily and of all stations, cabins, and equipment between every treatment
      • All employees wear masks and guests have their temperature taken upon arrival
      • All high-contact surfaces are cleaned at minimum of every 30 minutes
      • Spa staff sanitize hands before, during, and after treatment
  • Are golf courses open?
    • Yes, The Norman Signature Course is open. The Nayar Course and The Lakes Course are not currently available for use, but will reopen in early fall.
  • If courses are open, are golf carts used by two players or one per round?
    • Golf carts can be used by two players if they are from the same family. Otherwise, only one player is allowed per cart.
    • Additionally, we’ve taken the following safety measures for our golf courses and facilities as part of Vidanta Extraordinary Standards:
      • All rental clubs, golf carts, and other equipment are fully sanitized before and after each round.
      • All employees wear masks and players have their temperature taken upon arrival
      • All high-contact surfaces are cleaned at minimum of every 30 minutes
      • All tee times are staggered to ensure proper distancing between groups
  • Is the beach closed? If so, how tightly is the closure rule enforced?
    • Yes, the beach is currently closed at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. However, guests are always encouraged to enjoy their resort hotel’s pool during their stay for swimming, lounging, and activities.
  • Which restaurants are open?
    • At Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta, we currently offer dining and takeaway service at the following restaurants:
      • Samba
      • Ola Mulata
      • The Burger Custom Made
      • The Green Table & Sky Snack (formerly FreshCo.)
      • Balance
      • Chiringuito
      • Si Snack
      • La Cantina
      • Gong

    • We also offer room service and grocery delivery service. Additionally, all restaurants have implemented the following safety measures as part of Vidanta Extraordinary Standards:
      • Every table is fully sanitized between seatings and restaurants are sprayed with a sanitizing fogger nightly
      • All staff members wear masks and all items, such as napkins and silverware, are handed to you with tongs
      • Menus are accessed from your phone via QR codes
      • Any buffets feature chefs that serve you directly
      • All kitchen staff follow only the strictest hygiene standards and procedures, as certified by Crystal, the leading authority on health and safety in hospitality
  • Which pools are open?
    • The following pools are open:
      • The Grand Mayan Pools, Aqua Park, and Lazy River (Mayan Palace guests are currently invited to use this pool while their own is unavailable)
      • The Grand Bliss Pool
      • Grand Luxxe Pools: Punta, Tower 1, Tower 4, Sky Garden.
    • Additionally, the following safety measures have been implemented at the pools as part of Vidanta Extraordinary Standards:
      • All sunbeds and loungers have been positioned to allow for social distancing
      • All high-contact surfaces are cleaned at minimum of every 30 minutes and any rental equipment is sanitized between uses
      • Automatic hand sanitizer dispensers are available throughout all pool areas
      • All pools are cleaned and chlorinated regularly, and their chlorine levels are closely monitored
Facilities: Riviera Maya
  • Is the gym operating?

      • Every table is fully sanitized between seatings and restaurants are sprayed with a sanitizing fogger nightly
      • All staff members wear masks and all items, such as napkins and silverware, are handed to you with tongs
      • Menus are accessed from your phone via QR codes
      • Any buffets feature chefs that serve you directly

      • All high-contact surfaces are cleaned at minimum of every 30 minutes and any rental equipment is sanitized between uses
      • Automatic hand sanitizer dispensers are available throughout all pool areas

Facilities: Acapulco

Facilities: Puerto Vallarta
    • Vidanta Puerto Vallarta is currently not hosting guests but will be reopening its facilities come early fall.
Health questions:
  • How closely are staff members monitored for Covid-19? What procedures are in place staff members must follow to protect others?
    • Vidanta’s top priority is the wellbeing of its guests and team members. That’s why the following safety procedures have been implemented as part of Vidanta Extraordinary Standards:
      • All employees are required to wear face masks at all times
      • In order to enter any resort or corporate facilities, team members must walk over a sanitizing floor mat and have their temperature taken
      • All employees must wash their hands at minimum of every 30 minutes—there’s even a reminder bell that rings every 30 minutes throughout the resort to ensure that no one forgets
      • Social distancing is enforced between employees and their interactions with guests and third-party vendors
      • Vidanta has created a dedicated Safety and Sanitization Department, who is in charge of enforcing all of the Vidanta Extraordinary Standards and providing ongoing trainings to other team members to ensure consistent compliance.
  • What must housekeeping staff members do to demonstrate they have not been exposed to Covid-19?
    • Housekeepers follow the same procedures as listed above. Additionally, the following procedures and safety measures have been implemented as part of the cleaning guidelines for guests’ rooms:
    • All housekeeping staff must wear masks and gloves
    • Housekeeping carts are sanitized at the beginning and end of shifts and are no longer are allowed to enter individual guest rooms
    • All high-contact surfaces in guests’ rooms are rigorously cleaned daily All linens are changed daily
    • All rooms are sprayed with a sanitizing fogger between guests
  • What procedures are in place in the event a guest contracts Covid-19 while on the property?
    • Should the need arise, any guest with symptoms would receive necessary medical attention through a special care protocol created in close collaboration with the appropriate national and international health authorities.
  • How long do units that are occupied remain out of use before another guest is assigned to the same unit?
    • Vidanta has created a comprehensive set of procedures for cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms based on the guidelines set forth by national and international health authorities. Those procedures include, but are not limited to:
      • All housekeeping staff must wear masks and gloves
      • Housekeeping carts are sanitized at the beginning and end of shifts and are no longer are allowed to enter individual guest rooms
      • All high-contact surfaces in guests’ rooms are rigorously cleaned daily All linens are changed daily
      • All rooms are sprayed with a sanitizing fogger between guests
  • How often are the transportation carts cleaned?
    • All transportation carts are sanitized thoroughly at the beginning and end of every route/trip.
Reservations Policy
  • How are reservations going to be honored? For example, we have a reservation for specific dates in specific floor plans. When the reservations were made, the resorts were pretty full. Now that the state of Nayarit allows resorts to open but only at a 30% rate of occupancy. Will we be bumped at the last minute? Or will we be moved to another unit that we did not reserve but it becomes the only place management will approve? Should we change our plans for guests we have invited to join us?
