We understand that most of the Grand Luxxe towers will be built along the Ameca River, which is the border line for the states of Nayarit and Jalisco. Puerto Vallarta is in the state of Jalisco and Nuevo Vallarta is in the state of Nayarit.
Grand Luxxe Tower I operated under a "soft opening" in Feburary, 2010 and officially opened toward the end of April, 2010. Grand Luxxe Tower II opened on November 5, 2010. Three additional buildings are under construction, and one of those (Grand Luxxe Punta) is scheduled to open toward the end of 2011.
The Grand Luxxe Punta is an interesting building. Rumor has it that Mansions of the World Hotel will operate the top two floors of the building. There could be truth to that based upon the differences in the ceiling heights of the rooms on the lower four floors and the upper two floors.
November 5, 2010 - Two Grand Luxxe towers are open for member use. These we call Grand Luxxe Tower I, Grand Luxxe Tower II. Grand Luxxe towers that are under construction include Grand Luxxe Punta, Grand Luxxe Tower III and Grand Luxxe Tower IV. Rumors are there may be as many as seven Grand Luxxe buildings located on the Nuevo Vallarta Vidanta property. Now, we are not sure if the number of buildings mentioned above will be towers and the Grand Luxxe Isla buildings are going to be extra or if the number above includes all Grand Luxxe building. We suspect the Isla Grand Luxxe format will be additional buildings.
What are the Grand Luxxe Isla buildiings, you ask? We were told when we bought in 2007 that Grupo Mayan at the time planned to build lower profile, three story buildings featuring two and three bedroom Villas. We do not know anything concrete since we hear no comments about the Isla at this time.
Although the sales staff is silent on the issue, the maps John obtained in July 2009 describe the location of these units and the current configuration of the lakes appear to support the idea. Only speculation on our part. As we all know, even management, the only constant at the Nuevo Vallarta Grand Luxxe property is change.

Nuevo Vallarta appears to be the flagship property at this time. It is large (we were told it is about 475 acres), most of the Grand Luxxe buildings that are under construction are located at Nuevo Vallarta and two Grand Luxxe towers are open for business.The Grand Luxxe Tower I unofficially opened in February 2010 and officially in April 2010. Those who have stayed there feel the wait was worthwhile.
