Riviera Maya Property Improvements Taking Hold - Update from BeachWalkerBob

October 24, 2015

While the West Coast of Mexico and Puerto Vallarta deal with the largest hurricane ever recorded, the beach at Vidanta's East Coast property in Riviera Maya is flourishing, according to our newest update from BeachWalkerBob. Here is what he had to say:
Hi Bob,

We got home Monday from 2 weeks at the GL Riviera Maya. The first week was the best weather we have had in 10 years of going there. Great snorkeling and beach walking!

I took some photos of the new GL Beach and pier and Building 4 status photos and attached them. The beach is sandy and you can now walk out into the water from the shore in your bare feet, or walk out on the pier and down the steps to go snorkeling over the reef.

Beach reconstruction appears to be a success with the return of many colorful fish.

The reef is FULL of colorful fish. They have returned after all the beach construction that had scared them away for a while. Let's hope the GL NV comes through Patricia OK...

Cheers,

BWB's response to our questions:
Hi Bob,

Yes, it is very fortunate that Nuevo Vallarta dodged the main force of the Hurricane Patricia.

When I took the photos of Building 4 last weekend, there was only one area that was being worked on, and that was not at a very high level of activity. The only work area is the corner of the building that will be the main entrance and that is closest to GL buildings 1 and 2. I took the series of 5 photos as I walked to the left of that main entrance. The jungle trees are close to the construction, so it is hard to get a total view of the entire Building 4 in one photo without using a DRONE.

I had to push through the trees to get in to take the pics. They have camouflaged the old entrance area to Building 4 with new landscaping. The area that will someday be the roadway to the Building 4 main entrance is still raw jungle. I have been taking photos every 3 months for years and finally they are doing something to the pillars that have been there standing unchanging all that time. In July, the Sales Reps told us that Building 4 would be complete by November 2015. You can't believe everything you hear.

The model show buildings for the future residences that were under construction on the beach near the new Grand Bliss/Grand Luxxe Beach Club have been completely removed and all that remains are holes in the ground where they used to be.

I took photos of the buildings when they were about 1/2 completed. There is probably an interesting story behind that change in plans.

Christina did enjoy the new Grand Luxxe Spatium Spa for her massages and I simultaneously enjoyed having the entire new Grand Luxxe Spatium exercise building all to myself each time she had her massage. I love to exercise on such nice equipment. It is much smaller than the Brio exercise area above the Brio Spa, but the GL Spatium equipment is delux and outstanding and hardly anyone uses it (but me) in the late afternoons.

We stayed away from the SALES TEMPLE this trip and totally enjoyed an extra day of vacation by not having an "owner's update". I will leave it to your trained eye to figure determining what the room configuration will be for Building 4.

We return in January 2016, so I will take more photos of building 4 then.

Best Regards,
BWB

Thank you BeachWalkerBob. As always, your photo updates are interesting and relevant. We are looking forward to your next update in January.
