Google Earth is a great resource. We have been able to watch Vidanta's property at Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico change over time.

This series of images shows the changes as of August 3, 2015, which is the most recent date for image of Vidanta's property. The images from top to bottom show the property from Highway 200 on the east side of the property to the beach side.

The Greg Norman Course is south of the Ameca River and covers a sizable portion of the property extending to the Bird Sanctuary. Hurricane Patricia rains in the mountains increased the volume of water that passed by the property to the bay and covered the property, causing delays in opening the course. Plans are in place to open in late December or early January.

Access to the Greg Norman Course is by crossing the Ameca River by single span bridge. The entrance to the bridge is from a roadway that passes in front of Tower Five, which is under construction (November 12, 2015). Crews are now pouring cement on the bridge to create a solid structure for golf carts. Plans are in place to open the bridge and Greg Norman Course in late December or early January.

Plans also call for an Executive Course between the Santuario and Towers 3 and 4. This course is not yet under construction. It is reported that the course will be 10 holes, the longest of which will be 154 yards, and the course will be lit for use at night. Once completed, the north views from Luxxe, SPA and Loft decks will be of a beautiful golf course. It is not known when the Executive Course is scheduled for completion.

The property that extends from the Santuario west is completed. Foliage is dense, walkways are easy to navigate, the beach is huge and sandy, and the "strand" that extends from the Punta Pool area to the Grand Mayan pools and Turtle Sanctuary offers easy access to all the beach facilities offered by the resort.

Grupo Vidanta's property at Nuevo Vallarta is world class! The facilities are excellent, the property layout is interesting and activities offered are varied. It is golf and beach oriented. Restaurants are top notch and pools are plentiful. Add to that expanding shopping opportunities and you have no reason to leave the property unless you want to experience Puerto Vallarta.

The only area that concerns many guests is the process for getting on and off the property. For people who enjoy walking, the process could take as few as fifteen minutes. The time to walk from the former taxi area to the shuttle pickup and drop-off area in front of the Santuario is three to five minutes. Wait times for shuttles could be a bottleneck when the resort is fully occupied.

Regardless, management is making progress. Employees are well trained and being added in anticipation of increasing occupancy.
The new season is upon us, so we will all......stay tuned!
