Nuevo Vallarta Update - Ron's Trip In January, 2012

January 22, 2012

What's happening in Nuevo Vallrta? Ron spent two weeks in Nuevo Vallarta and provided us with photos he took around January 7, 2012.

First, the Mayan Palace south tower is down and to the ground. Early in his stay, Ron said he thought the jack-hammering was finally over. Crews meticulously cleaned the top of the underground space that once was the basement for the south tower. Then, after all the clean up, crews started demolishing the walls to the basement too. About half the structure is demolished. In the other half, crews are installing strands of re-bar. Now we see evidence of the possibility of another rising structure on top of the remaining foundation.

Reminds us of the famous Edgar Allen Poe poem about Lenour - Quoth the Ravens: "We know nothing more". Oh, sorry, slight mix up.....should be Quoth the Raven: "nevermore".

Yes, the view of the Mayan Palace south tower is nomore, but at least we have photos to prove that it was once there. biggrin

The Train Station / Reception Area is nearing completion. Ron's photos show a very clear view of the finished patio areas, which appear to be done in the normal Vidanta appealing way. The patio extending from the interior to the roadway is nicely appointed in alternating colors. In fact, it looks like a mix of bricks and colored concrete, but is probably just concrete. Maybe Ron can tell us more.

Interesting to see the Train Station pools. They do not appear to be full at the time Ron took the photos. The photos below are Linda's when she was in Nuevo Vallarta in December, 2011. Note the full pool and reception area. Must have been a "Soft Opening" then.

As we look south from the Train Station / Reception Area, to the Grand Luxxe Towers III A&B and IV A, the new towers are filling in the view. We are getting a better impression of the skyline as the towers continue to rise along the shores of the Ameca River.

The roadway to the fourth floor of Grand Luxxe Tower III A&B and IV A is nearing completion. It is clear from Ron's photo that the third floor units in Tower II will have eye level views with the road. We understand that the units on the second floor will become units occupied by the resort managers. Also, the first floor will be devoted to the gym.

Grand Luxxe Tower IV A is four floors from the ground. The ends of the building are different from the other Grand Luxxe Towers, which will slightly enhance the skyline. Furthermore, the units in the building may be different that those in the other Grand Luxxe towers, excluding the Punta building. We hear the Grand Luxxe Tower IV A and B buildings will have three and four bedroom units in the building. This may be why the end units are different from the end units of the three other Grand Luxxe towers.

Ron's views from the Grand Bliss are from the 9th floor. Models of the units offered by each resort are located there. You can see, the views from the decks are pretty spectacular. Both the ocean and the property at Nuevo Vallarta seem to be always changing.

It is rumored that the building next to the Grand Mayan on the road between the Grand Mayan and Grand Bliss will become a Grand Luxxe sales office. Very little was done to this building while we were there in November. Now, Ron reports work is heating up again. Someday soon, we may know the real truth.

Finally, Ron provided us with a view of the Punta. It is an interesting building, and it has the most unique architectural design of all the buildings located at Nuevo Vallarta.

Ron's update serves as a reminded that the money we have spent on future vacations is being put to the use we expected. To bad we can't get instant buildings on this beautiful and expanding property. Instead, we have to be willing to live through the inconveniences growth sometimes sends our way.

Thanks for your update, Ron.....let's all stay tuned....
