Cookie's Update - Riviera Maya

There are many conversations about traveler's experiences with the Luxxe Jungle Suite in Riviera Maya on TripAdvisor. Now, Cookie provides her own insights, and they are quite complementary. Following are hercomments and photos:We just returned from a month at the resort after not being there for a few years and lots of changes. Lazy River almost finished, which is right next to new jungle luxxe. The Jungle Luxxe lobby was half way completed. The New beach club is supurb and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy. Blue Fish is open for dinner. Great Concierge Service exclusive to Platnum members. Cocktail party once a week for platnum members. Sulum was about to open and Quinto Restaurant, which is on the beach is gorgeous with great steaks and great place to have breakfast. Shopping still needs some upgrading as it is not as wonderful as La Plaza. Salum looks like its addressing that issue. It woud be nice not to have to go off property to get groceries as store is still very limited in their selection. We are going to Cabo in October will report back on their progress.

Thank you Cookie. These and the others you sent are terrific! By chance did you take any of the construction of the Lazy River area? Also, is a pool under construction there too? Any word on when the work would be done? We see a lot of complaints about the distance from the Jungle Suites and the pools, and the thinness of the walls - some people complained about hearing next door neighbors and beyond. We understand 80% of comments will be negative or warnings. How severe is the problem, if in fact there is a problem?'

Unfortunately, because of Jungle environment and they have it blocked we couldn’t get close enough to get a photo. But the projection was the end of this month and they were working on it like crazy which I’m sure contributed to the noise. We asked several people that were staying there how they liked it and no one complained about thin walls or noise but I can see how that could be an issue. We heard nothing when we were in the unit in bldg 3.Terrific! It certainly does.
Transportation is an issue now but my feeling is once lazy river and lobby are open it won’t be. As a Platinum Member we had our own transportation to anywhere is resort we wanted to go by just calling our concierge. A nice perk. BTW, Jungle units have 2 full baths and LR area where photo was taken can be sectioned off if you have guests staying. There is no deck pool but that’s not important to us. The units there are a little darker than anything at Nuevo because of all the trees in the resort.

The nice thing is they change, and are sometimes very creative. How about this chocolate box? Almost makes you not want to eat it.

Luxxe Jungle Suites Interior...
The Luxxe Jungle Suites are one bedroom units with two full baths. The second bath is perfect for families with children. A separator can be pulled from the wall to give the living area privacy. The two couches make into beds. These units will accommodate up to four adults.

The Luxxe Jungle Suites interior is colorful and airy. The units are welcoming and comfortable.

The decor seems to be more contemporary too. Nice touches with colors and shapes.

The Beach Club
The Beach Club seems to be more popular than the Luxxe Pool area close to the Luxxe buildings. Maybe that is the quiet pool, and the Beach Club is the more active pool area.

All in all, the property at Riviera Maya is keeping up with the rest of the resorts. Beautiful grounds, improving facilities (Salum market to open soon.) and numerous options to consider.
