Grand Luxxe Punta - Update

On the beach, at the mouth of the Ameca River is the Grand Luxxe Punta. An April, 2010 explanation of what we knew then shows images of the building under construction then. Today, the building is nearly ready. In fact, we were told an internal goal was to open the entire complex by the end of November, 2011. That probably will not happen, but if it does, Grand Luxxe Members arriving in December will be treated to another example of the fine work done by Grupo Vidanata team.

Although we do not know the nature of all the unit configurations that are in this beautiful building, we do know that the Grand Luxxe Presidential Villas are located only in the Punta building as of this date. The Grand Luxxe Presidential Villa is approximately 4,000 square feet and made up of the combination of the Exclusive Master Villa (2 BR) with the Exclusive Villa (1 BR).

We believe the Grand Luxxe Presidential Villas make up most of the units in the Grand Luxxe Punta. We say most because we have heard there are two other configurations in the building. One is a four bedroom unit, which is located on the end nearest the ocean and has a deck that spans the width of the building. The other is a 2 BR unit that may be called the Signature Villa. These units may be located between the Presidential Villas, which we believe are located on each corner of the first through third floor and maybe the Grand Luxxe Tower I end of the fourth floor. We are speculating because we have not seen the floor plans for all floors.

Regardless, the units are spacious, comfortable and very accommodating. Note the furniture configuration in the floor plans is not duplicated in the actual unit. The dining table in the unit we previewed parallels the cook top island instead of paralleling the wall of the second bedroom. Also, the seating in the living area is cozy and includes two club chairs, a full couch and a love seat.

The living room area is wider than the Grand Luxxe Villa living area by about 3 to 4 feet, and the kitchen counter is also wider than the Grand Luxxe Villa kitchen counter by about 3 or more feet.

The kitchen includes a microwave oven, a large cook top, a blender, a coffee maker, an espresso maker, a full sized refrigerator with a freezer in the upper compartment, place settings for ten and a bar with wine racks and a full complement of glasses. We were told that ovens and dishwashers would not be included in the Presidential Villas.

The bedrooms are about the same sizes as the bedrooms in the Grand Luxxe Villa. There is a hall way that connects the master bedroom to the living area, which provides extra privacy and is a very nice feature. The bath areas are about the same size and configurations as the Grand Luxxe Villa. There is a half bath in the Exclusive Master Villa (2 Bedroom side) and not in the Exclusive Villa.

The decks are very ample, and the dipping pools are larger than the Grand Luxxe Villa. Also, there is plenty of comfortable deck seating as well.

The pool area surrounding the Grand Luxxe Punta will be accessible by all Grand Luxxe members for the foreseeable future. The pools are mostly infinity pools with an expansive view of the ocean and beach. Of course, there is direct access to the beach. Soaking pools are located on the perimeter of the pool area. The lobby area in the Punta has a make your own hamburger bar, a regular bar, a long granite bar for seating and a completely open air feeling. The unique glass post coverings that encircle the large structural posts are beautiful features that soften the cavernous interior. Also, there are interesting chandeliers throughout the lobby.

Bottom line....the Grand Luxxe Punta is a wonderful addition that all Grand Luxxe Residence Club members will have access to and be able to enjoy.
