Riviera Maya Update - From burrowbk

Here is burrowbk's update after his recent visit to Vidanta's Riviera Maya property:
Hello All,
I just got back from a week in RM GL, we upgraded while we were there to the four bedroom so we spent almost the whole day with our sales guy. Excited to stay in the new building in NV in a few months!
- We were told East Cape progress is moving quickly, they are going to be focusing on GL, Lofts, and Residents Buildings moving forward. Late next year for an opening. (** See site plan in the photos.*)
- New RM Convention center, and Arrivals Area is almost completed. (**See pictures**)
- Beach Club, they are working on this like crazy. We were told the new company is putting $400M into this complex. Will have a GL ONLY, and Platinum ONLY areas as well as two new concept restaurants. The style of the buildings are more like the GL lobby and Azure. Our sales guy showed us the designs and layout, but I forgot to take a picture. Sorry! (** See pictures of construction**)
- Jungle Estates construction starts soon, they are sold out of phase 1. They will be adding these types of properties to NV, and East Cape as well. They are being sold as Full Ownership to Fractional Ownership $2.5-5M+
- RM Jungle Side - They own 10 MILES deep of land on this side, they will be building a private airport, showed us plans of the airport building and location. The main goal with this and the Convention Center is to bring corporate retreats to the properties.
- Platinum Members - They will be building a Platinum only pool over by the new Spa and Gym. They have also added a luxury car pickup (Town Car or SUV) for members. Order your transportation normally, they review the arrivals and upgrade the transport for those members.
- They will be building more GL buildings in RM, and two will be near the current GL pool and will have the 4 bedrooms on the top floor with ocean views.
- Mansions of the World - They ARE building this, don't write it off yet. It's a different kind of product that will connect with other brands and private clubs around the world.
- NV Park - All of the "underground city" work is just about completed, so in the coming months we should see a lot of above ground work starting. This is priority #1 for them, so they are pushing ahead quickly.
Future Locations:
- -They own land in Hawaii, Maui, currently working through the permit process. It seems Vidanta doesn't like the local gov permitting process so they have really slowed this down. This would be a GL only property.
- - Cuba, they own a large plot of land here, and they are planning a major property.
- - Costa Rica, they also own a large plot of land here, and it looks like they are going with a GL only product here.
WEBSITE - Last year they hired a new SVP to overhaul their websites and internal systems. I'm sure we have all noticed the new front facing website, as well as heard about them having back end reservation system issues a few months back. Well it seems they are hard at work. Still no word on when they expect to have the owners portal up, but its in progress as well as an APP that will work on site, this will let you see what's going on on property, what places are open, make dinner reservations, request a cart, etc.
I think that's about it... I'll update if I can remember anything else.
